sZONDI'S 1900 BASED GENE THEORY MAY BE OUTDATED.

SZONDI'S 1900 BASED GENE THEORY MAY BE OUTDATED.
(But not totally refutable.)

He implied each drive had a gene equivalent.
This was then what was the every human has drives, that in exaggerated forms are the psychiatric conditions that gives each drive its name and cluster of unique effects.

The concern immediately arises, that while DNA are on a basis physical and structured, personality characteristics are not.

As the drown stream ripple to the mapping of the human Genome, it is noted that several efforts are under way to use the decoding DNA finding to link a persons actual DNA to a persons known nature. In advance of this we see animal breeders reporting that the specific DNA as a predictor of the animal adaptation and ability to relate to it's future owner, traits such as 'lap presence enjoying' in cats for example.

The researchers efforts to follow in this same direction of discovery for human characteristics is coming to bear results world wide. Without doubt you may soon be in an information overload in respect to such reports.

The concern immediately arises, that while DNA are on a basis physical and structured, personality characteristics are not.

Further if human personality traits are to link to DNA and genes, the somewhat vague nature of even major traits with polar or obvious contrasts activity has to also show a relation. A list of traits human such as feminine /masculine, loyalty/disloyalty, constructive/destructive, anal/oral are possibility with DNA/gene markers, or may be derived from more that one localized place in the larger system.

This direct of research is to be encouraged, as in time it is likely that more than one procedure will provide a usable method or several methods to achieve a better understanding of the relationship.

This use of traits is so basic to our way of thinking about nature of human, that it is almost by reflex excludes any acceptance of L. Szondi replacement of the ancient and accepted trait naming conventions with his eight key psychiatric conditions. In which each named conditions (each also called variously, need. striving, drive) As each condition has in its nature a cluster of inclinations /preferences that when manifested are also exactly the same as traits when the continue long enough to be said to be a characteristic.

There is a major effort to find DNA/gene markers for schizophrenia, depression, gender disorders as labels of medical diagnosis. This so far. has not moved in the direction defining personality or character structure.

The point here is those traits biologically connected as belonging naturally to a particular psychiatric condition are probably carried with DNA/gene plan, presumed as being subtypes of markers for that psychiatric condition.

Seventy years ago, we note by circuitous route, not totally logical, L. Szondi put together a system that used psychiatric conditions as measuring sticks for personality traits as well built a drive psychology and a explanation of the particular fates that a human may as a result finds himself.

The key ones, you already know: Normal, Neurotic, Psychotic, Perverse, Criminal and with mixed forms many more.

This list is expandable many ways. The astounding thing is, by means of his invention the Szondi Test ( Originally, he was to name it- :The Gen-o-Test' as a test for genetic relations. The results appear to support the theory. This can not be explained away as easy and dismissed, l as being the result of a two way delusional belief system, as often done with most other mystical pseudo-sciences.

This special kind of projection, determined by like and dislike of facial photos of the eight psychiatric conditions has a inner coherence and kind of self validation unique and supportind the psychology empirically build from test results and matching clinical experience, and known outcomes. Also its use with repetitively sampling and subsequent blind reading supports such results by other Szondi Test researchers. This follows more or less the European researchers method by which the Rorschach Test was also extended beyond being a percept identification tool to the full blown diagnostic device. Still considered by many to be the gold standard of projective tests. The Szondi results appear to be better suited for explaining dynamics than filtering out the focused diagnostic labels required for court proceedings and modern billing classifications devised by third party payers.
